Nothing changes the mood of a living space more dramatically than the selection of paint and colour. It is the most important decision home owners face during renovation projects. But for some, the choice of colour can be a contentious issue.
At best, it may leave home owners feeling confused and hesitant about what to choose. Many end up painting the walls white to avoid any disasters. At worst, it can lead to marital arguments as differing opinions come to head. There is a real risk of wasted time or even wasted money if a decorator needs to come back to repaint the walls!
How A Colour Consultant Can Help
As a colour consultant, I advise my clients on which colours to use in order to create the mood they desire. This is primarily in regards to the walls but if requested I also provide advice on which colours to use on furniture.
My job is NOT to dictate. My first task is to listen and understand the goals of your project. Only then, using my knowledge of what is available according to your budget, and how it will fit the unique characteristics of your room, I can provide informed advice based on experience. I do not work with or for any paint brand meaning I’m free to offer completely impartial advice.

When working on a full interior design project, my mission is to turn your dream into reality. By working with you to agree on your preferred styles and trends, I can propose a layout that captures your heart as well as your mind.
I create realistic 3D drawings of all my designs so you’ll get to see exactly how it’ll look before any final decisions are made. With unlimited revisions, we’ll keep working until we have found a design you fall head over heels in love with.

About Me
I am an experienced colour consultant with over a decade of experience in the design industry. I have worked as an in-house colour consultant and colour advisor for some of the UK’s leading interior design brands including ‘Farrow and Ball’ and ‘Fired Earth’.
While I specialise in the use of effective colour, I also offer a full interior design services delivered online and at a fraction of the expected cost. I am self taught on the industry standard software Sketch-Up with which I can show you exactly how your project will look before you get in too deep.
Services & Price List
- £100 = 1-hour online colour consultancy (with 30 minutes follow-up)
- £200 = 2-hour online colour consultancy (with 30 minutes follow-up)
We’ll schedule a one or two hour video call to examine the rooms of your home. I’ll then send you a detailed report of my recommendations. Sometimes, we’ll know exactly what colours to use from the first call alone. However, to be completely sure, we may need to see the colour on the walls.
If so, we have two options. I can recreate the rooms digitally and show you how they would look in different colours (see colour consultancy digital drawing packages). Alternatively, you can paint a sample, and we can schedule a free 30-minute follow-up call with me to discuss.
- £75 per room
- £200 for 3 rooms
The above prices are charged in addition to the basic colour consultancy package
- £250 per room
- £1,000 for five rooms
For a full design we’ll need to discuss exactly what you want and the options in your price range. This might be one or more calls but I’ll do whatever it takes to understand your goals.
I’ll then begin suggesting ideas. Once we agree on the direction, I’ll create at least two digital mock-ups for each room. You’ll see exactly how the final design I am proposing will look. Each room includes two design concepts complete with high-quality digital drawings as standard.
Note – I can create approximate drawings from photos and a roughly sketched floorplan, but I need a professional floorplan and measurements to make 100% realistic drawings.
If you are at all unhappy with my service I will refund the fees you have paid me in full.
